Description

The SDrive-MAX is a modern solution to the old problem of not enough disk space on your Atari 8bit computer. SDrive-MAX is a floppy drive emulator that emulates up to 4 physical floppy drives and one tape drive. Store thousands of floppy drive images on a single micro SD card that loads just like the original floppy did.

The all-new SDrive-MAX also functions flawlessly alongside physical drives giving you the ability to back-up those aging floppy disks onto modern storage that will last. It is incredible that floppy disks from 40 years ago still work, but it is only a matter of time before the data on them vanishes forever. The SDrive-MAX allows you to copy all of that data of the aging floppy for use far into the future. You can copy from the SDrive-MAX to physical drives just as effortlessly as from a physical disk to the SDrive-MAX.

The SDrive-MAX comes with a large touch-screen display, a 16GB micro SD card, an external power supply for maximum flexibility and a stylus for easy control. SDrive-MAX’s can get power from the SIO cable, but we include an external power supply for the original 800/400 computers that do not supply power fast enough to the SDrive-MAX to boot from it. You can also load CAS images using the SDrive-MAX since it also emulates the old tape drives used in the ’80s.

Item includes:

I just received this item and it performs flawlessly. I really appreciate the External power supply option. It is built very well the housing is solid. It is very easy to use the touchscreen for choosing which disk you want on which disc drive. Bravo on a great addition to the Atari eight bit line.

I’m blown away by the SDrive MAX!! It’s so easy to use and versatile. Loading disk images onto the four virtual drives is a breeze. The ability to work with .ATX protected images and .CAS tape images along with .ATR and .XEX is just incredible! The craftmanship of the product itself is impeccable. I have just about every modern storage device for the Atari 8-bit line but the SDrive MAX is clearly the most capable. Can’t say enough how excellent this product is.

The build quality on this device is fantastic! It is very professionally made. I originally had the first version of the SDrive-MAX that was unable to communicate with other devices in the SIO chain. However, I recently upgraded to the new modified version and am very glad that I did. I did some extensive testing and found that I am now able to successfully communicate between everything in my SIO chain with all devices attached. I can read/write in both directions between my 1050 & SDrive-MAX and also in both directions between my SIO2SD and SDrive-MAX. This is a great relief; now I will no longer have to plug and unplug periferials when I want to use either one or the other. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Got my SDrive-Max last week and finally got around to install in on my 800XL. This product is the Best, i am currently dowloading games onto the SD card and then accessing it on the Atari. Totally blown away, thank you and Mahalo’s Chuck

This device is amazing! I have it for my Atari 400 and it works great after adding more RAM to it. When I first got it, the touchscreen wasn’t working correctly so I contacted VCC and they got back to me right away and I was able to send it back and got it fixed within a week with no hassles. Now I got it and it has been amazing! I no longer need to hunt 5” floppies. I got it in beige and it nicely matches my 400. I highly recommend it to any 8-bit Atari owner

This is a great product and the service is excellent. I had some issues with the touchscreen and sent it back to VCC. Within a few days they had it back to me and now it works beautifully. I ported all my ATR files over to it and it makes working with my 800XL a snap. I’d recommend it to anyone.
